Student Travel Awards for 2009

Students planning on presenting a contributed oral paper or a poster at the WOS annual meeting are invited to apply for a travel award from the Society. These awards are both need- and merit-based, and are intended to encourage student participation by defraying part of the cost of attending the meeting.

To apply, send (as an email attachment) an expanded, detailed abstract of the paper (MS Word or pdf) to be presented (not to exceed two, double-spaced typed pages) and a budget of anticipated travel and subsistence costs to Tim O'Connell (tim.oconnell@okstate.edu).

Please only include in the budget anticipated travel expenses that will not be covered by any other source, e.g., travel awards from a student's home department.

Application deadline: 1 February 2009

Note: Students applying for travel awards must still submit a regular abstract for the scientific program (deadline 28 February) and register for the meeting. Vist the Call for Papers page for details.
