Wilson, Jones, and Klamm Presentation Awards
This year WOS will offer up to four awards for students presenting at the annual meeting: the Alexander Wilson Prize for the best student paper presented orally; the Lynds Jones Prize for the best poster by a student; and new this year, the Nancy Klamm Best Undergraduate Student Oral Paper Award and the Nancy Klamm Best Undergraduate Student Poster Award. The Nancy Klamm Awards are for current undergraduates who present their work at the WOS Annual Meeting. (For the Nancy Klamm awards, if fewer than five students compete in one of the categories, the two categories will be combined into a single award for the meeting.)
To be considered for any of these student awards, please be certain to indicate on the abstract that you submit to be included in the Program that you are eligible by putting an "A" before the title and by indicating whether you are a graduate student (Grad) or an undergraduate (UG) in the information you send along with your abstract (see below).
Students competing for an oral or poster award are guests of the WOS at the annual banquet. Simply write "Wilson Prize" on the banquet price line on the registration form. Students will receive their banquet tickets at the society business meeting on Friday, 23 March.
For questions about the presentation awards for 2007, contact James Chace, Acting Chair, Presentation Awards Committee <jameson.chace@salve.edu>
Membership Awards
Students who present papers at the 2007 meeting, and who are not already members of WOS, will also receive 2007 membership free from the Society. See the Call for Papers instructions about how to designate that you are a student and wish to receive free WOS membership.
